Palworld passive skill breeding involves a different question from choosing the child species. A parent-pair calculator can support the species plan, but it cannot honestly promise which passives will appear.

Quick answer

First use the Palworld breeding calculator to confirm a parent pair for the child species you want. Then make a separate list of desired and unwanted passive skills on your candidate parents, record each attempt, and verify the offspring in the game. This site does not predict passive inheritance or its probability.

Step 1: lock the species goal

Write down the target Pal before comparing traits. Open Target → Parents, choose that Pal, and identify candidate parent combinations. If you already have two likely parents, run Parents → Child to confirm the represented species outcome.

The Pal directory helps disambiguate names and variants, while the Palworld breeding calculator provides the parent-pair lookup. This prevents a trait-focused plan from drifting toward the wrong child species.

Step 2: create a separate passive-skill note

For each candidate parent, record the passive skills visible in your own game. Divide them into desired traits, acceptable extras, and traits you do not want. Keep this note outside the species result because the calculator’s matrix does not contain a reviewed inheritance model.

Do not turn a small number of personal attempts into a universal percentage. Without an independently verified mechanic model, a precise probability would be false confidence rather than useful guidance.

Step 3: prefer a manageable parent shortlist

Filter the target’s parent pairs by a Pal you already own, then compare the resulting candidates against your passive-skill note. A pair that fits your available Pals may be more actionable than one that merely appears first. This is a planning convenience, not a claim about the shortest or most efficient route.

Before using a candidate, read any displayed gender constraint and confirm the pair again in Parents → Child mode. The Palworld breeding guide explains these checks.

Step 4: record outcomes and adjust in the game

  1. Save the parent-pair link.
  2. Record the visible passives on both parents.
  3. Record the child species and passives after the in-game result.
  4. Keep useful offspring as future candidates when that fits your own goal.
  5. Change one part of the plan at a time so your notes remain understandable.

This workflow helps you organize observations; it does not establish a hidden inheritance formula.

What the calculator can and cannot do

The calculator covers species outcomes, recorded parent combinations, and displayed gender constraints in the published Palworld 1.0 matrix. Passive inheritance, IV probability, mutation, awakening, breeding duration, and optimal multi-generation planning are outside its scope. It also does not classify every Special or Fusion recipe.
